COVER STORY: Rosenblum Realty*

Real Estate is a Family Tradition

For more than 50 years and through three generations, Rosenblum Realty has been providing Huntsville and the North Alabama area with professional and personal real estate services. Owner Carey Rosenblum oversees the family-owned company and continues to stick to its values of building solid relationships with its clients.

"Our variety of services provide residential, property management, and commercial real estate services," Carey says. "We work hard to provide a level of real estate expertise that yields less stress for the client and lets them know we are someone they can rely on throughout the transaction without any surprises."

The family began its real estate endeavors with Carey’s grandfather, Tom Rosenblum, in 1957. Tom worked his way up for 30 years at the Lincoln Textile Mills before changing careers to selling real estate for Kelly and Summers Realty. After a couple of years, he partnered with Jess Brooks to form Brooks & Rosenblum and worked at the company until he passed away in 1968. Carey’s father, Tommy, who was also a real estate agent for the company and a minister at a local Church of Christ, separated out from the partnership in 1971 to form Rosenblum Realty, Inc. Tommy, along with his wife, Barbara, both were brokers, and worked for a number of years together in the business. Then in 1976, Carey began his real estate career with the family after graduating from David Lipscomb University with a degree in Business Administration and took over the company in 1989.

Services at Rosenblum Realty are anchored on residential real estate, but cover property management, commercial real estate, and raw land investments. "Our forte is in servicing homeowners that are moving up or out from their first home to their third or fourth, as well as a distinguished property management division," Carey says. "Our division helps clients meet any interim needs for a home and also help clients lease, rent, and manage a property."

Over the years, Rosenblum Realty has remained strong, and Carey contributes the success to working through the good and bad times and retaining top-quality agents that reflect the company’s vision. Staff members work on the client’s behalf, explaining how everything works, and are there for the client via phone, e-mail, or in person. "We have 27 agents on staff and additional support personnel," he states. "Our people are trained and receive continuing education and in-house training for the highest-quality service."

Rosenblum Realty also provides the latest technological advances to better serve its clients. "Gone are the days of the three-ring binder my father used to keep," Carey says. "Today we now have the Internet, our web site, automated e-mails with listings, and excellent marketing tools, such as flyers and open houses. What’s new at Rosenblum Realty is audio and video clips of properties that can be downloaded quickly."

Carey, who holds GRI, CRS, and ABR certifications, and his staff are involved in local organizations and charities, such as Habitat for Humanity, The Exchange Club of Huntsville, Better Business Bureau of North Alabama, Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce, Madison Chamber of Commerce and the Huntsville-Madison County Home Builders Association. Throughout his career, Carey has received many accolades, such as State Top 40 Realtors under 40 yrs of age in 1993, and Huntsville REALTOR of the Year in 2004.

What Carey is most proud of is being able to find the solution that’s right for each client’s real estate needs. "Knowing that you accomplished what folks wanted when you started out, and that you did in an honest and straightforward manner is what we are most proud of in our business throughout our three generations in the Rosenblum family," he states.

For more information, contact Rosenblum Realty at (256) 539-9501, office@rosenblumrealty.com, www.rosenblumrealty.com, or at its office located at 2314 South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, AL.

Office Furniture Outlet*

Office Furniture Outlet Introduces Three New Lines of Furniture

Owner Niles Prestage of Office Furniture Outlet recently contracted with a furniture manufacturer in China to build Office Furniture Outlet’s own line of office furniture. One of the three new lines is the Jacob line, named after Niles’ grandson, that is a high-quality, affordable line of laminate furniture built especially for Office Furniture Outlet. "We’re excited about the individuality of the furniture, plus it’s inexpensive," General Manager Tim Hastings says. "It should appeal to almost all of our customers."

DX and Aspenhome are the other two additional furniture lines that just arrived at Office Furniture Outlet. DX is also manufactured in China and specializes in affordable wood furniture. Aspenhome started 27 years ago as a small, family owned home entertainment business based in Phoenix, AZ. It has grown to a full-line furniture company specializing in dining, home office, home entertainment, leather seating, and occasional furnishings. This year’s entertainment line features "Thin Is In," playing off the latest electronic thin screen technology.

The warehouse at Office Furniture Outlet is stocked full of other famous name brand manufacturers, such as Paoli, Hooker, Riverside, IFI, Jasper Desk, Globe, HON, and Steelcase, just to name a few. Customers will find both contemporary and traditional styles of office furniture, home furniture, chairs, sofas, conference tables, bookcases, and accessories. All are in stock and ready to move.

Select from hundreds of chairs finished in leather or fabric. Styles range from ergonomic to Berkline to antique reproduction to contemporary. Accessorize with beautifully framed artwork, silk plants, lamps, desk picture frames, and much more. Prices are sometimes 75% less than original retail prices because most of the inventory is purchased in bulk from close-outs.

No matter how large or small the budget, the professional staff at Office Furniture Outlet provides each customer with concrete solutions for his or her needs. Arrangements can be made for the safe and secure delivery of each purchase. Call Office Furniture Outlet at (256) 882-9999 or visit the web site at www.officefurnitureoutlet.com. Creative Catering*

David King of Creative Catering Brings a "Hands-on" Approach to Every Catered Event

Since June 1998, Owner David King of Creative Catering has ensured his clients quality food and service by using a hands-on approach for every catered event. "I’ve always been directly involved in every catering event because it ensures the quality of food and service that keep customers happy and coming back," King says.

King’s approach applies to all facets of an event, such as the initial meeting and booking, ordering and preparing of the food, serving of the meal, and clean-up. "I ensure the best-tasting food because I’m stirring the pot; the cleanest dishes because I’m washing the plates; the cleanest floors because I’m doing the sweeping; and the truck being loaded properly…both going and coming…because I’m doing the loading," he states.

King’s dedication to his clients has helped his business grow, year after year. In 2006, Creative Catering served almost 20,000 guests. His direct involvement in every catering event has enabled him to develop solid, on-going relationships with his clients. He will serve any size event, from a three-couple private dinner in a home to a 1,000-plus-person event on-site for a corporation. "Somehow, some way, my hands are involved in every event," King says.

Creative Catering provides a variety of services for any size corporate, civic, or nonprofit catered event. It will create continental breakfasts, lunches, snacks, picnic meals, or served dinners. In addition, Creative Catering will cater special events like weekly or monthly business/civic meetings, ribbon-cutting extravaganzas, or holiday parties. Creative Catering also helps out-of-town businesses and organizations with their events and will travel outside of the greater Huntsville area. King and his staff provide a monthly meal for a school in Jackson County, Alabama and recently served a seated dinner for 500 in Scottsboro, Alabama and a breakfast for 800 in Decatur, Alabama. Creative Catering has even gone to Auburn, Alabama to cater a wedding reception.

King also promises hands-on creativity by developing a blueprint for your event, customizing menus, and providing guidance and suggestions with American and ethnic cuisine for weddings, backyard barbeques, corporate meals, or any special occasion. As the exclusive caterer for The Wedding Group in Huntsville, King and his staff work hard to make your special day memorable. "Regardless of the size of the wedding, our commitment to our client is to bring professionalism, culinary skill, and hard work to the event," he explains. "As a result of that commitment, we’ve been privileged to touch the lives of our clients in a special way on their special day."

King adds, "We continue to serve our now-famous signature items at many weddings…Carve-to-order stations featuring pork tenderloin, turkey breast, roast beef and ham, as well as hand-cut filet mignon steaks wrapped in bacon." And what continues to set Creative Catering apart? Service! "What goes hand-in-hand with the quality of our food is the quality of our service," King states. "We have a friendly staff that is dedicated to their work and to pleasing our customers."

In 2007, Creative Catering will continue to flourish by enhancing its exquisite table décor through upgrades of their edible fruit and vegetable garnishes, new table centerpieces and their client-pleasing displays of food and beverages. King comments, "This year, as in the past, you’ll see the same quality of food and service we’ve always been known to provide. It will just be more beautiful!"

Creative Catering is located at 611 Winchester Road. For a hands-on approach to your catered event, contact Creative Catering at (256) 851-1926 or online at www.creativecater.com.

Enfinger Steele Development*

ESD is Huntsville’s most prominent developer of award-winning communities. Jeff Enfinger, the company’s founder, has more than twenty-five years of experience in residential development and is the company’s visionary and planner. Sandra Steele has served as president of the company since 1998. She brings a background in business management, marketing, and construction. "We have an exceptional team of driven professionals, and what we consider to be one of the top management teams in the business," says Steele. ESD continues to lead the way in developing with its three new premier communities…McMullen Cove, Grove Park and MidTowne on the Park.

McMullen Cove is a magnificent canvas of mountain views, rolling hills and meadows along the Flint River. "It’s the prettiest parcel of land I’ve ever worked with," Enfinger said, "We may never have the opportunity again to develop a parcel of land like McMullen Cove. The combination of the cove and the mountain land makes this truly a unique property." Located within minutes of downtown Huntsville, this community offers more than 12 miles of walking trails and 1,500 acres of private park lands preserved for the enjoyment of its residents for generations to come.

McMullen Cove offers homebuyers the combination of elegant custom homes and spectacular amenities. The community’s design encourages preservation and compliments the beauty of the natural environment…nature trails, mountain views, waterfalls, wildlife and tranquil lakes.

"The Builders Guild of McMullen Cove includes some of the most well respected builders in our area," says Steele. Among the homes now under construction in the community is the Huntsville Madison County Builders Association’s 2007 Showcase Home.

Offering a life of balance and well being, The Club at McMullen Cove will feature a wellness spa, an indoor heated pool, a library, and a ballroom. By building your home in such a magnificent place, you will have the use of hundreds of acres beyond your own homesite.

ESD announces its newest community, Grove Park, a townhome village. Located adjacent to Liberty Middle School in Madison, Grove Park is surrounded by a 25 acre nature park and is designed to preserve open spaces and trees. The private setting of the community serves as a backdrop for the historic architecture of the homes.

Balconies, porches and terraces enhance the connection to the outdoors. The neighborhood pool and cabana will encourage gatherings with friends and families and further promote an outdoor lifestyle.

Coming Soon...MidTowne on the Park, an urban community located adjacent to Research Park, is designed to offer a comfortable and convenient lifestyle while bringing back the traditional value of being good neighbors. The pedestrian friendly design features sidewalks and walking trail and preserves more than one-third of the land for green space. This exciting new development will feature homes, townhomes and condominiums.

ESD’s commitment to being stewards of the environment continues by balancing land use with preservation as each new community is introduced. "Our philosophy is always the same–to serve our customer–and that means creating the very best communities," says Steele. For more information about ESD communities – visit their web site - www.esd.net.

Fowler Auction and Real Estate Service, Inc.*

30 Years of Continued Growth

Over the last 30 years, the staff at Fowler Auction and Real Estate Service, Inc. have helped clients obtain the most for their property with full-service auction services for residential and personal property, business liquidations, and commercial, industrial, and farm equipment. Chief Executive Officer/President and Auctioneer, Mickey Fowler continues to see the company grow in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia, along with his clients’ profits. "2006 proved to be the most profitable year yet for our clients," Mickey states. "We sold more homes and moved more acreage for more dollars than ever before."

Fowler’s auctioning services in the Tennessee Valley has increased as more people are realizing that the company can bring them top dollar for their property. "Land prices in our region have increased 50% in the last year and over 100% in the last five years," Mickey says. "Auctions always bring more money for undeveloped land because land is getting scarce."

According to Chief Financial Officer Betsye Fowler Spencer, the company has conducted real estate auctions that earned almost $20 million dollars in 2006. The facts speak for themselves: 51 homes/commercial properties and 1,640 acres sold, which translates to over $16.5 million earned for Fowler Auction clients.

Today, 90% of Fowler’s auctions are real estate, and they make the sale of residential or commercial property stress free. "We handle every detail," Betsye says. In addition to its outstanding services, Fowler Auction’s web site is user friendly with detailed information on upcoming auctions.

As a result of Fowler Auction’s success, it has expanded its auctioneer staff with Daniel Culps and Steve Butler. Culps may be a newly licensed auctioneer, but he has been with the company since he was 14, performing every kind of task imaginable. In the last two years, Culps has coordinated outside marketing for Fowler Auction. Butler, who’s licensed in Alabama and Tennessee, joins Fowler Auction with 11 years of experience. Additional auctioneers that have helped Fowler Auction grow include Mickey’s older brother Harold Fowler, Keith McDaniel, Joe Maddox, and Mickey himself. "I still get real excited doing an auction!" Mickey exclaims. "Often, I just know the final price-range of property. It is a combination of my training, my experience, and my gift."

Customer satisfaction is a testament to Fowler Auction’s continued growth. "I have many repeat clients," Mickey explains, "and often they are different generations of the same family." Client Gary Page states, "Fowler Auction has held two auctions for me over the past months, with a very good turnout. The quality of the buyers, as well as the price received for the properties, were more than we expected. I highly recommend Fowler Auction for selling property and assets." Client Marie Hurst says, "The Fowler Auction staff is great! They took all the stress out of selling our property." And client James Newby says, "Mickey took the estate and handled it from start to finish. I didn’t have to do anything. Mickey Fowler has the most experience in auctions of anyone I know, and he does a good job. He knows the market and he can almost tell you what it’s going to bring before he sells it."

Russ Russell Commercial Real Estate*

RusSELLS Another: Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence

Russ Russell Commercial Real Estate is proud to be celebrating its 20th year of business in the Huntsville area. Owner Russ Russell started the business in November 1987 with a simple vision: taking commercial real estate to a new level of excellence. When Russ first started out, he recalls just having the basics in his office. "My original office was located on Sparkman Drive," Russ says. "I had a desk, chair, and a telephone!"

Even as small as the company was back then, Russ stuck to his ideals of honest and fair business practices to help clients realize their full potential … and he still does so today. "We follow the National Association of REALTORS Code of Ethics," he states. "Our mission defines everything we do, from the message in our advertising to the reasons we sell commercial real estate. Our passion for this business benefits our clients and we strive to provide them with the best solutions while diminishing their risks and maximizing their profits."

Russ Russell Commercial Real Estate’s business philosophy is to be straightforward with the client. "We’re not necessarily the biggest, but we’re the best," Russ explains. "We strive to treat every person we encounter with the dignity they deserve. Another company value we have has three simple words: teamwork, excellence, and leadership. We feel this speaks volumes about how our company wants to be perceived and how it goes about earning its reputation."

The three primary services Russ offers are leasing, sales, and tax deferred exchanges of commercial properties. Other available services are brokerage, investments, and broker price opinions. As the first, and reportedly still the only agent in Alabama to earn the Certified Commercial Investment Member, Specialist of Industrial and Office REALTORS, and Certified Exchange Advisor, he provides clients with high-caliber expertise in the commercial property arena.

As a Huntsville native, Russ’ familiarity with the area gives clients an advantage when purchasing a place for their business or investment. "I know what will and won’t work," he says. "I know what my clients need to look for: primarily growth areas, visibility, and traffic patterns." Russ’ passion for this business benefits his clients, as well. He strives to provide them with the best solutions, while diminishing their risks and maximizing their profits.

Russ and the team at Russ Russell Commercial Real Estate work with more than 1,300 REALTORS, commercial loan officers, and attorneys. "Our business integrity is present throughout the deepest layers of our company and not just at its surface," Russ states. "We consistently try and demonstrate ethical judgment and practice the highest level of social conduct."

The company’s mission is more than just words. It is the foundation upon which Russ has built the company over the last 20 years. "The combination of insight, knowledge, experience, and integrity has become the solid foundation on which we build the relationships with our clients," he says. "We are committed to helping our clients build profitable investment portfolios."

For a company that has lived by its code of ethics for 20 years, contact Russ Russell Commercial Real Estate at (256) 536-7777 or stop by the office located at 923-C Merchants Walk from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, or online at www.russrussell.com.

Jade Communications*

Connect to Quality

Ken McFarlen, owner of Jade Communications, Inc., has been connecting with customers since 1999. McFarlen and staff provide top-quality telecommunications services and top-notch customer service. After taking an early retirement from Lucent Technologies, McFarlen utilized his 36 years of expertise in the telecommunications industry and started his one-man operation as McFarlen Telecom. In 2004, McFarlen Telecom incorporated as Jade Communications, named for his granddaughter, and now employs three technicians and an office manager.

McFarlen’s experience in the telecommunications industry goes back to when he went to work for Southern Bell. In 1984 after the divestiture, he was transferred to AT&T and worked as a system technician and project manager. In 1996, McFarlen went to work for Lucent Technologies, a spin-off of AT&T, as a system engineer and later as a field service manager for North Alabama and Southeast Tennessee.

What makes McFarlen successful is his dedication to his customers. Ken went to work for Southern Bell in 1964, where service and customer satisfaction were a must. R.D. (Pappy) McGee, one of Ken’s mentors, made sure he understood the importance of a job well done, as well as customer satisfaction. "Pappy taught me that giving the customer want they wanted was important to a successful job," Ken states.

Today’s communication world has several vendors associated with the communications needs of your business, and Jade Communications provides a personal touch. It identifies the problem and contacts the appropriate vendor until the problem is resolved, allowing you more time to focus on your business. "My philosophy is from the old school," McFarlen says, "where the customer does not care how much you know until he knows how much you care."

Jade Communications, an Avaya Partner, specializes in troubleshooting, repairing, programming, and installing Avaya telecommunications products, as well as installing Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat 6, fiber optic wiring, and outside cables between buildings. As an Avaya Partner, this gives Jade Communications the opportunity to offer customers up–to-date technical support and leasing options. In addition to supporting Avaya products, McFarlen is certified on all Spirit, Partner, and Merlin products, including Merlin Legend and Merlin Magix, Definity, and most products manufactured by Bell Labs dating back to the late 1950s.

Not only does McFarlen and his staff provide customers with personal and reliable service, but they also give back to the community. Alabama Orthotics & Prosthetics*

The Tennessee Valley’s FIRST and MOST Experienced Provider of Orthotics and Prosthetics

For more than 40 years, owner Jerry Swanson of Alabama Orthotics and Prosthetics (AOP) and an above-the-knee amputee since age 16, has been providing the Southeast with quality orthotics and prosthetic products and services. Swanson’s first office opened in Memphis in 1967, and he opened the Huntsville location in 1977. "I am pleased that AOP has provided quality products and service throughout the Southeast (Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi) for the past 40 years," Swanson states. "And serving my home community of Huntsville for 30 years has been equally rewarding. I am very excited as we plan for the future at AOP and address the opportunities of expanding our services to help even more people."

He continues, "AOP has grown from one office to currently nine. We started with one prosthetist and now have 10 highly trained and caring professionals fitting prosthetics and eight fitting orthotics. Our growth has been phenomenal!"

Alabama Orthotics and Prosthetics’ success is due to the excellence of service and caring attitudes. "Patients needing a prosthetic or orthotic have a CHOICE as to where they will go," Swanson says. "Individuals should tell their doctor to send them to AOP because we care about them personally. Our positive and attentive attitude makes all the difference in the world to our patients. I want our amputees to feel comfortable and know that we will do everything we can to help them live as normal a life as possible."

AOP provides patients with prosthetic devices such as c-leg, myo-electric arm, and mastectomy, as well as orthotics such as spinal bracing, compression hose, diabetic shoes, and arch supports. AOP specializes in pediatric and geriatric orthotics and prosthetics, in addition to treating patients with polio, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, diabetes, muscular dystrophy, and stroke. "AOP has both the Tracer CAD System and the Omega Ring to assist in developing a prosthesis that fits properly," Swanson states. "We use three or four different methods of fitting for a prosthesis to get the exact fit for every patient with several test fittings, evaluations, and adjustments during each fitting. In the final dynamic, weight-bearing fitting, the patient walks with the prosthesis and we do a dynamic alignment."

All staff members have a combination of formal training and experience, and six are amputees themselves. "In addition to a nine-month course (equivalent to a Master’s Program) completed by AOP staff at Northwestern University, continuing education is provided regularly and continually by national companies in the fields of orthotics and prosthetics," Swanson explains. "Our staff has over 200 years combined experience. AOP is certified, licensed, and is designated as an accredited facility by the American Board for Certification."

In addition to the Huntsville facility, AOP has two additional locations in Decatur and Hamilton, as well as a weekly clinic at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Doctors and patients enjoy working with AOP at each of its offices. Dr. R. Walker of Decatur states, "I use AOP because they know what they are doing. My patients are always satisfied, and that says it all." Patient Fred Castleberry says, "I have been to over 20 Orthotics and Prosthetics facilities in the past 25 years, and AOP is the best and most reliable."

Custom Cuts Professional Outdoor Services*

Professional Lawn and Landscaping Services for Your Home or Office

Since July 2003, Owner Jimmy Stubbs of Custom Cuts Professional Outdoor Services has been serving residential and commercial clients in the Tennessee Valley with professional lawn and landscaping services. Stubbs and his staff provide clients with lawn maintenance, installation and service for irrigation systems, landscaping options with sod and total lawn renovations, and specialized seasonal services that include dethatching lawns during the spring and summer months.

"My background in the lawn care industry allows us to provide these specialized services, such as dethatching," Stubbs says. "Dethatching is the process of removing old grass clippings that are in the lawn. Lawns that can grow better and benefit from this process include Bermuda and Zoysia."

Custom Cuts Professional Outdoor Services offers many landscaping services, specifically sod placement and irrigation systems. With sod, Custom Cuts Professional Outdoor Services performs every aspect of the process, such as excavating to the level of soil, laying the sod, and reusing the existing topsoil. The company will also bring in extra topsoil if necessary and ensure that the lawn is thriving by coming back once a week for the first few weeks to check on its progress. "We make sure that the sod is doing well by stopping by and checking on the lawn," Stubbs says. "If we notice anything, we’ll talk with the client to make sure the process is going smoothly."

After the company installs the sod or the irrigation system, Stubbs and his crew provide monthly maintenance packages that can be tailored to the residential or commercial client’s needs. The monthly maintenance contracts are based on a 12-month period that typically includes services such as mowing, trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, and replacing annual flowers with seasonal colors.

In addition to the convenient monthly invoicing, Custom Cuts Professional Outdoor Services sets itself apart with professional attire and equipment. "When we meet with a new client, we provide them with a written estimate then provide a written contract with what services will be included on a monthly basis," Stubbs says. "The crew is dressed professionally with a standard company shirt and the trucks have our information on them so our clients know we mean business." Stubbs also provides each crewmember with a client notebook that contains the contracts so the crew knows what needs to be done at clients’ locations.

As Custom Cuts Professional Outdoor Services continues to grow, Stubbs looks forward to the road ahead by providing clients a total package of customized lawn care and landscaping service. "Our goal is to continue to provide top-quality lawn care to clients and enhance our landscaping services," Stubbs states. "We want Custom Cuts to be your total lawn and landscaping provider for commercial and residential lawns."

They offer two and three bedroom floor plans, all with patented exterior European country architecture and Hardie plank siding, with 90-percent stone on every home. New standard features include two or three-bedroom floor plans, ceramic tile, hardwood floors, granite countertops, stamped concrete patios with cedar fencing, and finished sunrooms.

Timbers Edge offers designer options for homeowners to customize their homes. These include upgrades on appliances, plumbing fixtures, optional cabinetry with stains or glazes, and special selections of hardwood floors, plush carpets, and granite countertops. David Evans, Eicher-Kirby sales associate, says, "Even the mountain or lake views from your sunroom or patio are your choice. Be sure to reserve soon your special location in the community and to enhance your home in your own way."

Another distinction at Timbers Edge is the sales team. "Our sales ‘family’ is professional, dedicated, and accommodating," Denson says. "We work as a team to get things done for clients. Ruth's Chris Steak House*

Where Food is a Passion, but Service is a Crusade!

At Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Huntsville, patrons will find that food is a passion, but service is a crusade. The team at Ruth’s Chris Steak House continues to uphold Founder Ruth Fertel’s vision of caring for guests by delivering the highest quality food, beverage, and service in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The original Chris Steak House was located in New Orleans and purchased by Ruth Fertel in 1965. Shortly thereafter, a fire forced Ruth to change the original location and she renamed the restaurant Ruth’s Chris Steak House. With little experience in the restaurant industry but with lots of enthusiasm, determination, and hard work, Ruth made the restaurant a great success. Today, Ruth’s Chris Steak House is the largest upscale steak house restaurant group in the world with more than 100 restaurants worldwide.

"Ruth’s Chris Steak House is founded on three ideas: superior PRODUCT, precision/exacting PREPARATION, and attentive PRESENTATION," says Huntsville franchisee Nancy Oswald. "A great dining experience is typically hundreds of details that, if properly executed, you should never see. This attention to detail makes the meal magical. Through careful hiring and intense training, we strive for all our team members to embrace a true ‘service attitude’. Our guests expect this high level of food quality as well as superior service and gracious hospitality when dining at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. And they know they can count on us to enhance their dining experience each and every visit."

Ruth’s Chris Steak House specializes in broiling custom-aged, corn-fed USDA Prime beef in its trademark 1,800-degree ovens, personally designed by Ruth years ago, to lock in natural flavor and tenderness. Each signature steak is served sizzling to ensure flavor and create excitement. In addition, the menu features veal, lamb, poultry, and fresh seafood such as Maine lobsters, flown in daily. A broad selection of appetizers, fresh-cooked vegetables and potatoes, specialty salads, and homemade desserts complete the dining experience.

Since Ruth’s passing in 2002, the Ruth’s Chris Steak House family has a renewed commitment to preserving her legacy and embracing her ambition for success. Ruth’s Chris Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Craig Miller, focuses more than 40 years of personal restaurant experience directly on upholding Ruth’s ideals and expanding her influence.

The local franchise owners, Phil Brooks, Jim Brooks, Mark Oswald, and Nancy Oswald, established Prime, Inc. of Alabama in 1992 for the purpose of opening their first Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Birmingham, AL. Huntsville’s Ruth’s Chris Steak House is the fifth restaurant that this very successful business group has established. "We are thrilled to be in Huntsville," Nancy states. "There are many dynamic forces converging here, from the opening of the downtown Embassy Suites & Spa to the BRAC moves and the anticipated growth of the business community. This is an exciting time to be in Huntsville."

Ruth’s Chris is located in the lobby of the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Huntsville, adjacent to the Von Braun Center. The restaurant is open daily Sunday through Thursday from 11am to 10pm, and 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Private dining rooms are available for corporate or family events, and reservations can be made by calling (256) 539-3930. Web site: www.RuthsChris.com. Come and enjoy Huntsville’s newest culinary landmark, Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Because, as Ruth Fertel said years ago, "Life’s too short to eat anywhere else."

Lewis and Son Roofing & Construction*

Using Quality Products and Doing a Professional Job—EVERY TIME!

For the past 50 years, Lewis and Son Roofing & Construction has been the company you can depend on for residential/commercial roofing needs and remodeling projects. Shane Lewis, president of Lewis and Son Roofing & Construction states, "Lewis and Son is an established family business with a solid commitment to serving our customers. You can count on us being here to do the job and to stand behind our work."

Lewis and Son’s remodeling services have satisfied many customers by utilizing top-quality products with outstanding guarantees. Shane says, "Once we do a professional job on their roof, people have confidence in asking us to do remodeling jobs in their home, such as replacing windows and doors, installing all types of siding, building their dream deck, sun room, patio, and bathroom and kitchen additions."

In its remodeling work, Lewis and Son installs energy-efficient Ellison Windows, Timber Select Vinyl Siding (with a lifetime warranty) and Trex Decking and Railing. For siding with great durability, Lewis and Son uses James Hardie Products in a "full house-wrap solution" featuring Hardishingle®, Hardiplank®, Hardisoffit®, Hardipanel®, and Harditrim®. The siding boards are made from Portland cement, ground sand, cellulose fiber, selective additives, and water for durability and strength. "Lewis and Son has been working with James Hardie® Siding Products for over five years and we know they are excellent products," Shane says. "The siding cuts, handles, nails, and looks like wood with added strength and durability. The products resist damage caused by extended exposure to moisture, humidity, insects, and wind, and have a limited, transferable warranty for 50 years. Paint even lasts three to four times longer than on wood. Also, the James Hardie ColorPlusTM Collection offers a wide range of designer colors resistant to scratches, peeling, chips, or cracks, all with a 15-year finish warranty."

Lewis and Son is currently doing work for Becky Carr. Becky says, "We first met the Lewis and Son team at the Homebuilders Show last year. My husband and I were impressed with their "can do" attitude, as we needed not only a new roof, but also new siding and a complete chimney rebuild. Although the projects have not been finished, we have been completely satisfied with the professional and respectful treatment Lewis and Son has provided us during the bidding, contract signing, and actual start of these projects. Our dealings with Lewis and Son can be summed up in one word…integrity! We would highly recommend Lewis and Son to anyone requiring roofing and construction."

Lewis and his staff properly install more than 500 top-quality roofs per year, again with top-quality products like GAF. The company provides a one-year, money-back guarantee on leak repairs. And, Lewis and Son go above and beyond most other roofing companies, providing a "double warranty" of 10 years on a complete roof replacement (in addition to the GAF warranty of 10 years to lifetime of house, depending on the roofing materials used). Lewis and Son never use a subcontractor, and their staff is covered by Worker’s Compensation Insurance.

Signs By Tomorrow*

High-tech Equipment Keeps Signs by Tomorrow on the Cutting Edge

Since 2000, Signs by Tomorrow has been providing Huntsville with top-quality signs and graphics using cutting-edge technology and equipment. Owner Barry Bowerman and staff produce vehicle wraps, tradeshow graphics, point-of-purchase graphics, banners, indoor and outdoor signage, and more.

Signs by Tomorrow’s new Hewlett Packard 9000s wide-format, solvent printer is faster, prints on more materials, and is less expensive to operate. "More and more of our products are now being printed on wide-format, full-color printers," Bowerman says. "The HP 9000s is a six-color, solvent printer that prints faster with excellent resolution, and prints on more materials. This allows us to output more high-quality graphics faster than ever before."

A recent example of Signs by Tomorrow’s ability to produce materials efficiently and with great results for clients was when Daniel Klibanoff, founder of Angels Among Us, asked the company to produce a large amount of signage for the world premiere of the movie Constellation. The premiere was also a fundraiser for the families of the students involved in the Lee High School bus accident in November. "In three days, we designed and produced a tremendous amount of signage for this event, including an 8ft x 26ft printed fabric backdrop for the red carpet sidewalk, a 4ft x 16ft printed banner for the theatre lobby, three 7ft x 4ft printed banners for the premiere party at the Ledges, and several dozen other signs and movie posters for the events on Saturday," he comments. "We couldn’t have produced all of this high-quality, full-color signage in that short of a time without the new equipment. Plus, we were also able to give the organization a very low cost, again due to the new equipment."

The new printer also cuts the time in half to produce the company’s vehicle wraps with near photo quality, outdoor-durable graphics. "More businesses are discovering the effectiveness of using their vehicles for advertising, and we have the equipment and knowledge to support their needs," Bowerman states.

In addition to the printer, Signs by Tomorrow has also added a new high-speed wide format vinyl plotter for one-color signs and banners, window lettering, and die cutting around printed graphics. "The new equipment in our shop allows us to produce high-quality signs and graphics faster, and more efficiently, thus allowing Signs by Tomorrow to restructure our pricing on 75-80 percent of items," Bowerman says.

An example of the company’s price reductions includes its car graphics. "Prices on full and partial car wraps are now lower because of new equipment," Bowerman explains. "For instance, a full-size van wrap is now about $500 less on the overall cost of the wrap."

With its new equipment, Signs by Tomorrow continues to stay on the cutting edge and looks forward to increasing its production of banners, trade show graphics, vehicle wraps, point of purchase graphics, and more. "We are the experts on full-color signage," he says. "We want to be the place that everyone comes to."

For more information, contact Signs by Tomorrow at 1803 University Drive, call (256) 722-8522, go online to www.signsbytomorrow.com/huntsville, or e-mail sales@sbthuntsville.com.

Mr. Electric*

Expert Electrical Service

For expert electrical service in the Huntsville area, Mr. Electric is a national franchise with local roots that dedicates itself to top-quality service. President and licensed electrical contractor Keith Pinkerton started his Mr. Electric franchise in November 2003 because of the unique way the company runs its business.

"Mr. Electric is a group of trained professionals who desire to provide the quality of service our customers deserve," Pinkerton says. "I chose to be a part of the Dwyer Group and Mr. Electric because of its integrity, its system, and its focus on customer service. Believing in the Code of Values of the Dwyer Group has enhanced my life both professionally and personally."

Pinkerton and his staff live these values by treating others how they want to be treated, listening, understanding what the customer is saying, making agreements they are willing and able to keep, communicating honestly and with purpose, proposing possible solutions, asking clarifying questions, striving to maximize internal and external customer loyalty, making the best effort to understand and appreciate the customer, and having fun in the process.

The Dwyer Group of Waco, TX started the Mr. Electric franchise in 1993 and now has 146 franchises in the United States and 204 worldwide. Its goal is to have 35 new franchises in 2007 and targets its services to suburban areas of more than 100,000 people. As part of the franchise family, Pinkerton is now fourth in the United States in dollar volume and ninth in sales per capita.

Mr. Electric provides a variety of electrical services, such as repairing, installing, and replacing ceiling fans, recessed lighting, electrical plugs, electrical panels, and security or landscaped lighting. Additionally, Mr. Electric does electrical remodeling for an entire house or a home addition with its dedicated remodeling crew. In addition, Mr. Electric provides 24/7 emergency service through an on-call service professional, as well as a back-up service professional.

As part of its Code of Values, all incoming service calls to Mr. Electric are handled professionally and in a timely manner. After receiving a service request, a dispatcher will call the customer when the service professional is in route to the customer’s home with the service professional name and the estimated time of arrival. When he arrives, the service professional parks his Mr. Electric truck on the street in view of the front door, places a doormat outside the front door, and wears shoe protectors when entering the house. Once inside, he performs an "evaluation of need" of the problem and also offers to perform a 12-Point Home Safety Inspection. Upon completion of this evaluation, he provides a written quote and obtains approval before performing the work. After the job is complete, the Mr. Electric service professional receives payment before leaving.

Pinkerton has eleven service professionals and nine trucks on the road daily. Each service professional has extensive electrical knowledge, wears a Mr. Electric uniform, displays a Mr. Electric picture ID, and goes through regular in-house training. "We want the ‘cream of the crop’ of employees in our industry. And I believe I have the best!" Pinkerton comments. "I fully trust and believe in the professionalism and the ethical behavior of all my service professionals."

Since 1997, AllSouth Appliance Group, Inc. has been providing clients with top-quality kitchen appliances and outdoor bar-b-que equipment. Brothers Josh and Tyler Hillman, co-owners of AllSouth Appliance in Madison and Birmingham, got started in the appliance industry by customer demand. Tyler, who was already working in the appliance industry, and Josh, who was working for an automotive service company, found that clients from across the Southeast were looking to purchase high-end appliances to create the kitchen they’ve always wanted.

"After some consideration, we believed a showroom offering customers large displays with multiple brands, with the organization focused on the builder’s needs, would be successful," Tyler states. "Providing a showroom with a friendly atmosphere and no-pressure sales, along with demonstration kitchens, is an important part of AllSouth’s commitment to customer service. The goal is to build lifelong customers, and to do this, our customers must realize a value in doing business with us."

Southern Stone Design*

Adding Beauty and Value with Stone

Southern Stone Design (SSD), founded by co-owners Danny Hallum and Joel Robertson, was created to provide caring service and top-quality stone products to customers in the North Alabama and Southern Tennessee areas. Danny, with 20 years and managerial experience in the electronics industry, oversees the business management/sales department, while Joel, who worked a decade for the Huntsville Police Department, oversees the templating, fabrication, and installation of all countertops.

Danny and Joel began the company with the goal of doing installs only and hoping to install eight kitchens per month. SSD grew so rapidly that within 60 days, they opened a full service fabrication business to complement the templating and installation of granite. "I’ve been hugely surprised by the success of the simple concept SSD has adopted," Danny states. "Serving customers an excellent product and superb service pays off in every way."

Now with 30 staff members and 25 years of combined stone work experience, SSD weekly processes 1,500 square feet or more of high-end natural stone and quartz countertops, and installs 12 to 18 kitchens per week. To accomplish this work, SSD employs multiple, daily work shifts, three install teams, six sales associates, two interior designers, and one interior decorator. To compliment their service commitment, SSD uses only Grade A, 3 cm thick natural stone slab materials from Italy, Brazil, and Africa, purchased always from a reputable wholesaler. Available quartz products are Hanstone, Ceasarstone, and Zodiaq by Dupont. These industry leaders offer beauty without sacrificing strength and durability and are composed of natural quartz, resin, and color.

SSD works in new home construction with over 30 local homebuilders, including Mark Harris Homes, Nicholas Homes, D.R. Horton, Killian Homebuilders, Pollard Homebuilders, and Viking Construction. Additionally, SSD offers kitchen and bath remodeling services. Its goal with kitchen countertop installation in homes being remodeled is to minimize home disruption. This is accomplished by developing a countertop template on the first day, cutting the stone on the second day, and installing the countertop on the third day.

SSD customer service also includes a showroom with hundreds of granite and quartz options, edge profiles, several kitchen islands, and sample under-mount sinks. And, along with its on-site selections, SSD offers retail customers the option of going to granite suppliers in Birmingham or Nashville to personally select and tag their own granite slabs. If the customer chooses to go to a wholesale supplier in Nashville, they may take their paint and cabinet samples and work directly, at no extra charge, with a SSD-provided interior designer to select their stone.

SSD is licensed and insured and is a member of Huntsville/ Madison County Homebuilders Association, Morgan County Homebuilders Association, North Alabama Better Business Bureau, and the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. The company actively supports the Huntsville/Madison County Homebuilders Association. Recently, SSD participated in the 2007 Home and Remodeling Show with a very busy, attractive and successful booth. They also partnered with Jeff and Karen Durbin of Kitchen & Bath Concepts and provided all the granite countertops for their display. This spring, SSD will provide a number of kitchen countertops within homes in the Tour of Homes and, later in the fall, at the Parade of Homes.

Duell Law Firm*

Helping Business Owners Obtain Success through Franchising

Duell Law Firm, LLC can help business owners who are thinking about expanding into other markets through a franchise option and establish a plan for success. Owner Richard Duell says, "Our firm can provide answers to numerous questions clients have, such as Does my business fit a franchise model? ...What will it cost? …What are the legal requirements? ...What corporate structure is needed? ...How do you determine the selling price for the franchise? It is important to have the right team of advisors when making this decision for your business."

Duell focuses his practice in franchising. The firm has a thorough, working knowledge of every part of the franchise equation and can help your business through the entire process, such as trademark registration, drafting all of the franchise documents for new franchise companies, and helping the mature franchisor with everything from registering in the required states to franchising internationally.

According to Duell, with more companies entering the franchise arena to expand their business, there are many advantages for both the franchisee and the franchisor. The franchisee (the independent business owner buying a franchise) benefits from a nationally recognized name and successful business model. Buzzin’ with Bugg on ZTV

The buzz around the Tennessee Valley community can be heard about WTZT-TV’s (ZTV-11) new sports show, "The Sports Buzz with Harold Bugg". Owner Jamie Cooper thought a show about Southeastern Conference sports, in particular The University of Alabama, Auburn University, and The University of Tennessee football programs was needed. Cooper met with one of the Tennessee Valley’s well-known sports broadcasters, Harold Bugg, and is now putting his vision into reality. "The show will fill the need that isn’t being met by the national sports shows or local sports casts," Jamie says. "People in the area want and need their fix of SEC football and we’re here to provide it."

The show airs Monday through Friday at 7pm and replayed at 11pm with hosts Harold Bugg and Brett Beaird at the helm. It will cover a variety of local and college sports topics and host many sports figures and celebrities, such as Eli Gold and Rob Bramlett.

Harold has extensive knowledge in covering sports throughout the state, as well as in the Tennessee Valley, in both television and radio. As a self-proclaimed sports nut, Harold has always had a passion for sports. "My father told me to find where your passion is and you’ll never work a day in your life," he states. "My passion is sports."

Harold brings a wealth of experience to the show. "Harold Bugg is one of the most talented and finest sports broadcasters I’ve ever known or watched," The Birmingham News columnist and radio broadcaster Paul Finebaum says. "Rarely have I seen a talent who has not only been able to captivate an audience, but to also be able to garner such fierce loyalty from them. He is a rare breed in the business."

Champion Window and Patio Room Company*

Make your patio room dreams come true

Selecting a company that offers a quality product along with service and a solid guarantee is vital to a successful project. Since patio rooms are made primarily of glass, it is a vital element to consider in the construction process. Champion’s exclusive Comfort 365® Glass is standard in all Champion patio rooms. This revolutionary glass blocks harmful UV rays and keeps the heat out in the summer and cold out in the winter so you have a room you can enjoy year round. Champion patio rooms have also earned the Good Housekeeping Seal for quality and performance.

Don’t get caught in a save now/pay later situation by choosing a room with substandard construction. Champion custom manufactures each patio room in their own factory. They don’t confuse people with a good/better/best product line. By controlling the entire process from sales to manufacturing to installation and the guarantee, Champion can offer a top quality patio room at a great value to the consumer.

Before signing on with any company, be sure you know how long they’ve been in business. Ask for referrals and make sure you understand their service and warranty policies. Ferguson & Ferguson, Attorneys at Law*

Representing Seriously Injured People in Trucking and Transportation Litigation

In 1993, Jackie Ferguson Graham and Randy Ferguson founded Ferguson & Ferguson, Attorneys at Law. This brother and sister legal team helps clients with a variety of litigation needs, such as Social Security, filing of bankruptcy, and slip and fall cases.

In the specialized area of trucking and transportation litigation, specifically involving tractor-trailer accidents, Randy has extensive knowledge of the trucking industry. He represents clients throughout the Southeast and the United States. In many of his cases, his clients have died or been seriously injured. These individuals or family members are dealing with trucking companies that are fully represented immediately following an accident. Trucking companies train their drivers on "what to do" and have attorneys and investigators available to go directly to the accident scene. Randy says, "It is imperative that your attorney be knowledgeable of the regulations and how they affect your case. Additionally, the gathering of information immediately after the accident can be the difference between winning and losing. You need to obtain names, addresses, and pictures—before the information disappears."

Randy has extensive knowledge of the trucking industry, and is a member of numerous trucking and accident litigation groups throughout the country. "It is very important your attorney be able to communicate and network with other trucking attorneys and experts who have dealt with the same trucking companies throughout the country," he says.

For additional information and numerous resources on tractor-trailer accidents, consult Ferguson & Ferguson’s expansive and informative web site at www.fergusonferguson.com. The office of Ferguson & Ferguson is located at 303 Williams Avenue, Suite 321 in Huntsville. EnviroSafe*

Someone Has To Do It!

Owner Terrell Nixon of EnviroSafe provides clients in the Huntsville area with a service that not everyone provides, but a service that someone has to do. "We go up on roofs and crawl under houses in full body suits in the hot and cold weather to remove mold and make a house’s roof, siding, decks, fences, and concrete areas look brand new," Terrell says.

EnviroSafe’s main focus is on mold and all its services revolve around its removal with its roof cleaning and other outside services, such as deck and siding cleaning. Terrell and staff can save homeowners money. "We can come in, clean the roof at 10-15% of the cost of a new roof, and add curb appeal to a home that’s on the market," he says.

EnviroSafe uses products from Caltex International that meet and exceed standards. "Most products only kill 80-90% of the mold and remove zero percent," Terrell comments. "Once the product used neutralizes, the 10-20% that was left behind now has an abundant food source to regrow at a faster and stronger pace."

Along with the Caltex products, EnviroSafe follows the Caltex system, which is a frontrunner in the mold industry for technology and services. This also includes keeping up on safety standards, such as putting technicians in body suits and full-face masks, and using negative air machines that prevent the mold spores from rising in the house during the removal process to prevent cross-contain.

Terrell is dedicated to providing a legitimate service to the mold problems in the area. "We go above and beyond the normal and standard requirements and it’s satisfying to know our job is helping others," he comments. His greatest satisfaction is knowing his work is appreciated. "People see me in public and thank me for the work and we know it’s something they appreciate," Terrell says.

Terrell is hands-on, handles all the proposals, and personally inspects the work that his crew does. For more information, contact EnviroSafe at (256) 704-4570, terrell@uglymold.com, or visit www.uglymold.com.

The ultimate benefits to be reaped by the mid-South region once the renovation is complete are innumerable. Though BNA won’t be altered overnight, it’s a metamorphosis in motion, currently in the cocoon stage, with its phased-in approach beginning early this July, as several new specialty retail and food concessions will commence operation, including Quiznos, Famous Familia, Baja Burrito, Burger King, O’Charley’s, Hudson News, Radio Road, Fly Babies, Spirit of the Red Horse, and Sunglass Hut.

At a time when the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) is embracing renewal, it also recently formalized the MNAA brand, reflecting its customer focus and professionalism. Customer-focused in keeping Music City flying high with accessible, safe, unique, and vibrant facilities. And professional in its commitment to providing the broadest array of competitive flight alternatives to the mid-South region.

BNA consumers will also notice a new symbol that embodies the contemporary essence of the soon to be transformed terminal. A fresh evolved logo, uplifting and airy, evoking emotion and motion of flight, resonates Nashville’s musical heritage and is vividly representing the heartbeat of the mid-South region…Nashville International Airport.

Furniture Medic by Steve and Corinne Healy*

The Prescription for Damaged Furniture

Furniture Medic by Steve and Corinne Healy is your prescription for damaged furniture at your home or office. Owners Steve and Corinne focus on repair and touch-up of furniture with on-site, same-day service using advanced techniques and patented materials to restore furniture and wood fixtures to "like new" condition.

After 22 years in the U.S. Army, Steve retired as a Sergeant Major (E-9). Steve, along with his wife Corinne, opened the Furniture Medic franchise in 1994 here in Huntsville. Steve concentrates on the technical side of the business, while Corinne concentrates on the administration and customer support. Steve’s passion for woodworking made it an easy decision to provide the area with this unique service. "I’ve always been a woodworker…over 30 years as a hobby…and I enjoy the satisfaction of restoring something to its original state," Steve says.

Furniture Medic’s business philosophy is to do the job right with prompt, courteous, and dependable service that saves customers money with touch-up or repairing the piece as opposed to replacing it. "We focus on customer satisfaction from the time you call Corinne for an appointment until the end of the job. More than 90% of our customers are either repeats or referrals," he states. "We think that says a lot about our business."

What makes Furniture Medic different from refinishers is it doesn’t advocate stripping and refinishing. Some of the services the company offers for residential and commercial customers include antique and heirloom restoration and repair; hand waxing for fine antiques; re-gluing and stabilizing to repair loose joints in chairs, tables, and beds; piano finish repair; parts fabrication to repair or replace broken wooden or metal parts; moving damage inspections, estimates, and repairs; image enhancement for commercial customers to touch up business furniture; and a deluxing service for high gloss dining room and conference room tables.

Budget Blinds of East Huntsville*

Beautiful and Comforting Home Improvement Trends

Budget Blinds of East Huntsville is your source for beautiful and comforting home improvement trends. The company studies current trends to help clients create a custom look for their home or office with window treatments, such as plantation shutters, Roman shades, solar shades, blinds, draperies, and more.

For 2007, Budget Blinds is seeing the trend for soft blues, greens, turquoises, and browns for a beach cottage look or richer browns, mustards, and maroons, for a more global look. Woven woods, roller shades, shutters and Roman shades are all products you can use to achieve either of these looks. Also, soft treatments are making a comeback. If you think heavy draperies when you hear "soft treatments", think again—Roman shades come in a variety of styles. Bundling, the practice of layering two or more window treatments on one window, is also very strong this year. And, embellishments are in. Roller shades are now sporting beading, scalloped edges and decorative pulls, a far cry from the plain versions of the past. You can easily coordinate the Roller shades with drapery panels or under a drapery valance for a more finished look.

Budget Blinds focuses on providing clients with a simplified process to complete their home or office transformation. "Our window-covering specialists come directly to your home to display samples and options," Tom Wright, franchise co-owner with his wife, Lee, states. "Once the customer decides on treatments, colors, and extras, we measure the windows to ensure proper fit, order, and then professionally install the product. The customer never needs to leave their home to shop for window coverings."

Tom and Lee Wright purchased the Budget Blinds franchise in November 2005 after seeing that the Huntsville area was a great community for their family and business. They now reside in Harvest with their daughters, Victoria and Audrey.

Budget Blinds has a style for every point of view. To schedule a free in-home consultation or to request an informative design guide, contact the company at (256) 489-5530, via e-mail at tewright@budgetblinds.com, or visit www.budgetblinds.com.
