This is the host base for NearMe Networks. If you are viewing this page, then you are most likely here by mistake. For information about the company, NearMe Networks, please visit our homepage at www.NearMe.net.
Can't find your site? One cause for seeing this page is that you have a new website that we are hosting for you. If this case, there are several small steps that need to be done to ensure your new site routes correctly:
- A Record or DNS routing: Your domain name must be pointed to our servers correctly. One common mistake is to "forward" the traffic to the IP address instead of "routing" the traffic to the IP address (using an A record). This mistake is common for those new to the process of routing and is also possible if your domain registrar's tools do not support virtual DNS changes.
- Incorrect Alias: Once your site is routed to our servers, the "alias" on our server must be set to receive the traffic - that means your website URL must be entered into our database correctly. A typo in the alias is a common cause for routing problems (including the database extension "/dnn").
- Multiple Aliases: You may have more than one URL pointing to the same website (for example, www.lifeonthewater.com and www.lifeonthewater.org); both aliases need to be entered into the database. Also, there are cases where you want one domain to "resolve" to the other (the .COM is right, the .ORG switches to .COM) - this takes some additional routing instructions, one site is set to forward, the other to be an alias. Make sure these instructions are clear.
Getting HelpIf these changes are on our servers, or if we are authorized to change your DNS (domain routing) settings, then please contact us with the potential problems you see at support@nearme.net.
